HOW
TO CORRECTLY MEASURE A HOSE ASSEMBLY
When a bespoke hose assembly is manufactured to a customers specification, the
required length of the assembly and angle of the end fittings often causes confusion
on how they are measured.
LENGTH
OF A HOSE ASSEMBLY
The
majority of hose assemblies length are measured from sealing
face to sealing face (seat to seat), which is roughly the
centre of the nut depending upon the type of sealing face.
ANGLE
BETWEEN TWO ELBOWS
The
angle between to elbow end fittings is measured anti clockwise.
IDENTIFYING
SEALING SURFACES To
verify what type of end fitting you require, here is a diagram
of the more common sealing surfaces. Please note that there are
metric threaded fittings, which also have very similar looking
sealing surfaces to all three examples.
