Hose
fittings are designed for each specific hose style to meet
the requirements of industry specifications for that particular
style of hose. Hose fittings are typically divided into two
types: field attachable (sometimes referred to as reusable)
and permanent (often referred to as crimped or swaged).
Hose
fittings also have a connection type: typically Flared (to
mate with MS33656) or Flareless (to mate with MS33514 or
in accord with NAS1760) or ArcSeal (commonly known as Dynamic
Beam Seal to mate with MIL-F-85421 or 85720) and BSP; this
connection type mates the hose assembly to the airframe tubing
or accessory. Hose fittings are available in various material
types depending on application. Several field attachable
styles have become popular for individuals desiring to make
their own hose assemblies.
